So my time is up- I am leaving the beautiful Zimba tomorrow and returning to the UK on Friday. These last few months have been truly crazy, packed so full with work that it has been hard to get space to do normal things e.g. cook, blog, email, internet bank, sleep etc etc. I can't write about most of what I have been doing so it makes for a rather slow blog- apologies for that. However I am looking forward to catching up with you all in person- preferably over some tea and cake....
Zimbabwe has been an amazing country to live and work in- a truly INTENSE experience, a complete privilege. The people here are some of the most resilient I have ever met- they could teach the world a few things.
In my leaving I am still hoping for the sweet sounds of revolution to flood this place. I know it is already here- you just have to know where to find it. Yesterday I went and checked out a friend's future dream of community and creativity- heck 'the living breathing sound of the underground' (and underdog) is pumping out some awesome beats. I definitely want to come back and be part of this in the future but for now my time is up, the hills are calling. It is the season for: sorting out my vegetable patch in the Lake District, building a tree house (need help from friends please), spending significant amounts of time with my 3 gorgeous nieces- Nina B I am SOOOoooo excited- 'TONINA' (!), finishing (or maybe starting) the thesis on public health, catching up with all of you, sorting out my head from all the craziness of what I have seen recently and getting my broken foot (yes, it still is broken) mended.
See you soon chaps x
